In this tutorial I am going to show you step by step how to create a simple web form in GetResponse<\/strong>. The web form is going to be the simplest possible without any design in order to be used in squeeze pages where the design is already in place. What is needed is the HTML code to collect the name and email address to be sent to the GetResponse<\/em><\/a> auto-responder.<\/p>\n

Create a simple web form in GetResponse<\/h2>\n

First of all, you will need a\u00a0GetResponse<\/em>\u00a0account.<\/p>\n

Login into your account, go to the “Web Forms”<\/em> menu, then select “Create New”.<\/em><\/p>\n

You will see this page.<\/p>\n

You are on the “Design tab”<\/em>.<\/h3>\n

Select the “Plain”<\/em> template. The template will show below in the working area. You have to remove some elements you do not need. Unselect all in the tool bar below.<\/p>\n

You will have then the simplest version of the form with only the email field.<\/p>\n

If you need the Name to be collected as well, select “Name”<\/em>.<\/p>\n

You can now go to the\u00a0next tab, click on “Next Step”<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

You are now on the Settings tab…<\/h3>\n

Give a name to your Web Form.<\/p>\n

Then select “Custom Thank-you page”<\/em> and enter the URL.<\/p>\n

The “Thank-you”<\/em> page is the page you want people to go to just after they have subscribed successfully. It is usually the landing page with the video or the eBook you have offered for signing-up or the sale page.<\/p>\n

Click on the “Show Advanced”<\/em><\/strong> link (see image above).<\/p>\n

Keep the 3 options as default.<\/p>\n

Below you have this.<\/p>\n

Select the campaign where you want the lead subscribed.<\/p>\n

Choose the initial message you want to be sent for the Campaign you chose.<\/p>\n

The Track Web Form Users (ref)<\/strong> is very important, it will tell you where your leads are coming from. In this example, you are going to use this web form on a squeeze page that you will promote via Safelists, nothing else. That will be the way for you to see if the traffic source gives you results or not.<\/p>\n

Keep the Tracking custom field<\/em> as the default.<\/p>\n

Click the “Next Step”<\/em> button<\/p>\n

You are now on the last tab: “Publish”<\/em><\/h3>\n

Select the first option.<\/p>\n

Then, select the “Show HTML Code”<\/em> tab.<\/p>\n

Turn “Include css styles”<\/em> OFF.<\/p>\n

You have now a clean web form code that you can copy and paste in your squeeze page.<\/p>\n

Click on the “Web form list”<\/em> button.<\/p>\n

Your web form has been successfully created.<\/p>\n

If you want to create another similar web form for another squeeze page to use with another traffic source, just click on the “copy” link.<\/p>\n

Then, open the new copied form, rename it, change the Track Web Form\u00a0User<\/em> to PPC, for example, and grab the new code.<\/p>\n

Tracking Leads<\/h2>\n

If you have notification enabled, you will receive a notification each time a new lead is added.<\/p>\n

You can see now where the\u00a0Track Web Form<\/em>\u00a0User<\/em> reference shows.<\/p>\n

This way you will see from which traffic source your lead is coming from.<\/p>\n
