WordPress by Default<\/h2>\n

Let’s see first where is located the default ping list in WordPress<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Under the Settings<\/em> menu locate the “Writing”<\/em> link.<\/p>\n

Install and activate the plugin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Check the 2 options “Enable pinging”<\/em> and “Limit excessive pinging in short time”<\/em>.<\/p>\n

I choose max 1<\/strong> time within 10<\/strong> minutes to be safe.<\/p>\n

The second portion of the page shows the Logs.<\/p>\n

You see that my previous post was pinged only once and that 9 unnecessary pings were saved. It is very rare that you publish a post without having saved it a few times while you are progressing. Several posts like this one and the blog can be labelled as a ping spammer if not using WordPress Ping Optimizer<\/span>…<\/p>\n

You can see the results of your pings. If it’s green all is fine, if it’s red, the ping did not go through.<\/p>\n

There will always be red entries.<\/p>\n

If the particular service does not work anymore, remove it from the list.<\/p>\n
